Changarrito, through the Center for Book and Paper Arts, invites artists to participate in the exhibition, Mano/Mundo/Corazón: Artists Interpret La Lotería, September 9 – December 10, 2010. In addition to the Changarrito, this exhibition will feature project-driven works by contemporary artists that reference or appropriate La Lotería in a contemporary way.
All artists are invited, no matter their nationality or country of residency, who are interested in showing, promoting and selling their works of art through Changarrito, and want to collaborate actively with the cultural proposal of Changarrito.
Works proposed should relate directly to the idea of La Lotería in some way. Artist-designed Loteria games, cards, drawings, artists’ books, posters and other small works will be considered. Selected works will be shown on the Changarito
To be considered, please email the following materials to Jessica Cochran, Curator of Exhibitions and Programs (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than August 8th, 2010:
• A brief personal resume
• A short description of the proposed work to present at Changarrito and, if possible, images
• Artists that sell their works of art at Changarrito get 100% of the value of the sale
• The price of each piece doesn’t have to exceed 200 US dollars
• the proposed work should be small-format
Notification: A representative of the Center for Book and Paper Arts will contact applicants no later than August 15 to discuss their proposals and coordinate the details of the presentation for each artist.
