       Changarrito  with José Villalobos,    Mexic-Arte Museum , Austin, TX        August, 19th –  27th       August Changarrito Residency with José Villalobos - Flamboyant Ego    Saturday, August 19 from 10:30 – 4:30pm at the    Artisan Mercado on Congress and 5th   Sunday, August 20 from 12:00 – 4:00pm   Saturday, August 26 from 12:00 – 3:00pm   Sunday August 27 from 12:00 – 3:00pm José Villalobos grew up on the U.S./Mexico border in El Paso, Texas and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016. Raised in a traditional conservative family, his work largely centers on body image, selfidentity as a gay man. Villalobos explores traditional "masculine" objects and softens the virility of these objects. By making subtle ambiguities, the macho-ness of these  objects become delicate.
